Merry Christmas (Chrismas 5&6)

Christmas morning came around and my girls were passed out like bears in hibernation. I nudged, I coughed, I tickled and NOTHING! I waited and waited patiently for oh 5 or so minutes before I just had to wake them up lol

They weren't too sure what to think. They were excited because they knew Santa Clause had came, but too nervous to walk out into the living room to see what he had brought them. Once we finally got them in there it was game on. They jumped from toy to toy to toy. Santa brought Audree a Minnie Mouse power Scooter, Ashlyn an Ariel light up vanity and the both of them a 3.5 foot dollhouse.
We finally got them to open the presents under the tree, which was never ending it seemed like. It was just present after present after present. I swear with all of our Christmas we had we could open our own toy store.

After our Christmas we headed to my dad and stepmoms. We had our traditional breakfast that my stepmom has cooked every year. Audree & I played Santa and passed all of the presents out. Everyone tore into their presents. Of course we all once again got everything we wanted. My dad even surprised me and got 2 things I had asked for, the kicker was I was in the store with him when he got them and I had NO CLUE! Sneaky little thing.
After my dads we came home and unboxed the millions of toys the girls got. It literally took us almost 5 hours to do. The girls played with everything as soon as we were getting them out of the box. We made a fire that night and just relaxed.
After the girls went to bed, I curled up next to the fire and read Heaven is for Real. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to ANYONE! I couldn't put it down. Every page was just filled with so much detail and it just pulled you in word after word

We hope everyone had a wonderful merry christmas!

Christmas 2, 3, & 4

We started off Christmas Eve at my mom and stepdads. We had our traditional Christmas Eve breafkast of cinnamon rolls, sausage, biscuits and this year my stepdad attempted to make us the worlds largets omelet. ATTEMPTED is the key word here lol I came along and ended up scrambling it because it was burning on the bottom. After breakfast it was present time! The girls tore into their presents like their was no tomorrow. Nonna and grandad spoiked the girls like crazy! I think their favorite presents they got was the trampoline which they are on every single night.

After my parents we headed to my inlaws. Orginally we weren't doing Christmas til 3 but since we got there early we opened presents. The girls were once again SPOILED by grammy and pawpaw, aunt Emily, cousin Laura & Uncle Shane. I think their favorite present they got here was Audree's Leap Pad & Ashlyns big car ramp and cars.

Later that night we headed over to my stepmom's side of the family. They have a HUGE Christmas Eve bash ebery year. Its always SOOOO much fun. We laugh until we cry and always create memories. We made out like bandits on the Good Chinese Christmas gift exchange. Even Santa Clause came to visit and bring the kids presents, even though my kids weren't too fond of him. We finally hit the sack around midnight that night and eagerly awaited Santa Clause!

On the First Day of Christmas....

We celebrated our first Christmas with my aunt, uncle, 2 cousins and nana on Friday the 23rd. We were all so thankful Audree was able to come home in time to have this Christmas!

We snacked ALL day long it seemed like before we had our traditional sandwiches & punch for dinner.

The kids were so excited to open presents and I have to admit I was pretty stoked as well!!

Ho Ho Ho Hospital???

Monday morning audree still wasn't herself. I called her pedi and they wanted her to come in.

The took one look at her and said oh man she doesn't look good at all. I explained everything that had been going and they pulled notes from the ER visit the night before. They couldn't believe we weren't admitted last night to the hospital.

They did bloodwork and it actually came back decent. They said she looked way worse than what the tests results showed. Audree hadn't been to the bathroom in around 12 hours, so they kept trying to push fluids in her. Audree refused, even popsicles :( Dr said she would give her until 3 pm to go potty, which gave us about 4 hours to push fluids in her. Her diagnosis at the times was double ear infection, & bronchitis.

We went and picked her antibiotics and ear drops and headed home. I tried all afternoon to make Audree drink but she would just take sips here and there. All she wanted to do was sleep. 3 came and went and I called her pedi. They ended up saying it was time to admit her. I was crushed, but knew it would be best for her at this point in time.

Audree was a basketcase once she realized they were going to start another iv on her. It was TORTURE! The nurses were excellent but Audree was screaming for them not to hurt her. I cried and cried with her and Brett had to look the other way.

Our overnight admission ended up being 5 days. She had to be eating and drinking more on her own before they would discharge us. SOOOOOO after much encouragement and telling Audree lets go home for Christmas we finally got her drinking enough on her own to come home!

Under the Weather......

Saturday dec 17 audree wasn't feeling well at all :( she wasn't her normal happy go lucky self but she wasn't running any fever. She helped make food for our Christmas party and decorate as well. We even went to a birthday party that afternoon where she ran and played and had a blast.

At the start of our Christmas party audree was herself, but as the night went on she quickly faded. At 730 she was crashed on the couch under some covers. My dad said she felt warm and boy was he right. I went to put her in our bed, took her nightgown off of her and gave her some motrin. She slept all night long, so I was hoping she felt better in the morning.

Sunday morning came and audree was much worse than the night before. She was very lethargic, wouldn't eat or drink and just wanted to sleep. She was running a fever of 103 so I took her to an urgent care clinic since it was a Sunday. They took one look at her and immediately said she needs iv fluids. Nobody felt comfortable sticking her bc her veins were so small so they sent us to ER.

Once we got to the ER and back in a room they starts audree on iv fluids. It had been ATLEAST 12 hours since she had pottier and she ha to potty before we could leave. I was a little perturbed at the ER Dr as he didn't seem too concerned and did my even order a blood test. Anywho we sat in the ER for about 4.5 hours, audree received 2 bags of fluid, potties and sent us home with a prescription for antibiotics.

Santa Claus is Coming......

We took the girls to our local mall yesterday so they could take their pictures with Santa. We stood in line for probably 45 minutes and the girls were having the best time. Ashlyn kept looking at Santa saying "Ho Ho Ho" and Audree kept practicing her smile.

When it was our turn the girls FROZE. Ashlyn screamed bloody murder which triggered Audree to start her waterworks. I calmed her down enough to get a picture, which is quite funny. She forced a smile onto her terrified face.

Maybe next year Ill get both of them together with Santa, maybe...........

Shrek the Halls.....

Every year my in-laws pay for the entire family to do something fun at Christmas. For the past 2 years we have gone to the Gaylord Texan where they put on an ICE show. Now when I say ICE, I mean it. There is over 2 MILLION pounds of ice and everything in the exhibit is carved out of ice. It really is AMAZING to see.

This year's theme was Shrek and it was sooooo adorable! Audree loves Shrek so it was a DEFINITE plus for her. We got there walked around & took some pics before we headed into the actual ice show.

Before heading into the actual ice exhibit they give you these huge blue parkas to wear. I always layer the girls up with tights under their jeans, and 2 shirts because it is FREEZING in there. Ashlyn looked hilarious in her parka, it was so funny looking to see her walking around in it. It swallowed her whole but she pulled off the look pretty well. Audree was more than ready to go inside and see Shrek.

In the middle of the ice show they have slides made out of ice. Laura, Audree & Brett decided they would go down it. I was video taping Audree going down the slide when all of the sudden I see Brett coming down. So I decided I would record him as well, I ended up getting him face planting on the ice lol It really is funny. He did hurt his knee in the process though. Poor guy, I actually uploaded the to America's Funniest Home Videos, maybe we will be on the show :)

***BLOGGER isn't letting me upload the video at this time GRRRRR***

After the ice show the girls went snow tubing. This ride was SOOOOO much fun and it went super fast! Brett & I took turns ridin with Audree. She loved this ride.
