Well Mothers Day Out came a little sooner than we thought for Ashlyn. We originally didn’t plan on starting her until the Fall but after we discussed it we thought she was ready. We want her interacting with other children, be social, expand her vocabulary, etc.
I went in late on Monday to work so I could take both girls to school. I was nervous all morning, and yes I shed some tears lol Ashlyn kept asking when it was time to go to school and I had to keep telling her when the clock said 9:15 we would leave. Audree kept telling her no ashlyn, its not that time yet. I know how to read clocks lol She helped me pack her lunch, and even put her lunchbox in her backpack. She told me she wanted her hair down and long like “punzel” asa Rapunzel so we straightened it and pulled it halfway back.
All the way to school both girls were just talking up a storm. Audree was telling Ashlyn about her classroom, how they get to play outside, and go to music class and on and on and on. We pulled up at the school and Ashlyn grabbed her backpack and put it. She was walking into the building like she had been going there for years. Well she has been going there for a year and a half when Audree gets dropped off. We walked into her classroom and then it happened……. She froze! She wouldn’t even walk through the door, she backed up lol I encouraged her to go in and with a little push, I mean nudge she was in! She wouldn’t talk to anyone at first, not even the teacher. I told her it was going to be just fine, sissy was right next door if she needed anything. I took a big deep breath and walked out.
I took Audree to her classroom and she was the emotional one. She doesn’t do it with anyone else, just momma lol She said she just didn’t want me to go but she quickly got distracted and started playing with her friends. I peeked on Ashlyn before I left and she was already playing with the teacher. Between the director and Audree’s teacher I got pics several times throughout the day. Every time I got one I would say awe look at her!
I couldn’t wait to get home that day!! I left right as the clock struck 5 and rushed home! I was greeted by 2 huge hugs and kisses and was drug to the kitchen. Ashlyn was so excited to show me her very first craft she made at school. It was snowflakes made with marshmallows (im surprised she didn’t eat them lol, my girl LOVES marshmallows). She got a good report at school and they said she had a wonderful day. She told me she played with her new friends, especially little Audree. She thinks its funny that there is a little girl named like her sister in her class.
She went back yesterday and had a blast again! We are so proud of her for being such a big girl!!
