Big GIRL School

Well Mothers Day Out came a little sooner than we thought for Ashlyn. We originally didn’t plan on starting her until the Fall but after we discussed it we thought she was ready. We want her interacting with other children, be social, expand her vocabulary, etc.

I went in late on Monday to work so I could take both girls to school. I was nervous all morning, and yes I shed some tears lol Ashlyn kept asking when it was time to go to school and I had to keep telling her when the clock said 9:15 we would leave. Audree kept telling her no ashlyn, its not that time yet. I know how to read clocks lol She helped me pack her lunch, and even put her lunchbox in her backpack. She told me she wanted her hair down and long like “punzel” asa Rapunzel so we straightened it and pulled it halfway back.

All the way to school both girls were just talking up a storm. Audree was telling Ashlyn about her classroom, how they get to play outside, and go to music class and on and on and on. We pulled up at the school and Ashlyn grabbed her backpack and put it. She was walking into the building like she had been going there for years. Well she has been going there for a year and a half when Audree gets dropped off. We walked into her classroom and then it happened……. She froze! She wouldn’t even walk through the door, she backed up lol I encouraged her to go in and with a little push, I mean nudge she was in! She wouldn’t talk to anyone at first, not even the teacher. I told her it was going to be just fine, sissy was right next door if she needed anything. I took a big deep breath and walked out.

I took Audree to her classroom and she was the emotional one. She doesn’t do it with anyone else, just momma lol She said she just didn’t want me to go but she quickly got distracted and started playing with her friends. I peeked on Ashlyn before I left and she was already playing with the teacher. Between the director and Audree’s teacher I got pics several times throughout the day. Every time I got one I would say awe look at her!

I couldn’t wait to get home that day!! I left right as the clock struck 5 and rushed home! I was greeted by 2 huge hugs and kisses and was drug to the kitchen. Ashlyn was so excited to show me her very first craft she made at school. It was snowflakes made with marshmallows (im surprised she didn’t eat them lol, my girl LOVES marshmallows). She got a good report at school and they said she had a wonderful day. She told me she played with her new friends, especially little Audree. She thinks its funny that there is a little girl named like her sister in her class.

She went back yesterday and had a blast again! We are so proud of her for being such a big girl!!

A Girl's Best Friend

You know the saying " A dog is a man's best friend?" Well I think the saying should be "a GIRLS best friend".

We got Cooper, 8.5 months ago. I grew up with a boxer and after we lost Zoey I knew I wanted another one. We met Cooper at 3 weeks old, and he was just the cutest little thing Ive ever seen. We went and saw him weekly until it was the big day to bring him home! He has been stuck up our rears since, but we love him.

The girls absolutley ADORE him to pieces. He lets them lay on him, rub his ears, ride him like a horse, whatever they want lol But we do it to him and oh no he thinks its time to play and rough house. Its amazing to see how good natured he is with the girls, def protects them!

Happy Birthday To The Hubby

Today is the hubby's 29th bday, he's getting old lol I told him he better love it up this year because next year he is officially OLD! I usually cook him breakfast on his bday, but since he's working 12 hour shifts and goes in before the rooster crows I won't this year. He will wake up to a cake, balloons, birthday card from me and them another from the girls and his gift. He always wants his subscription to orangebloods renewed so its never a surprise, bummer!!

Brett, You are an absolute blessing in my life. I don't know where I would be without you, but I know I wouldn't be near as happy as I am now. You always know how to make my day better when it's not going a planned, turn my frown upside down, make me smile for no reason, keep me laughing, love me for me and treat me like a queen. Ill never know what I did to deserve you, but I am so very thankful for you. Who would have thought that 11 years ago we would be where we are now. God has put the best man in my life and the past 11 years have been amazing!!!

American Girl & New Years Eve

My mom and stepdad got Audree an American Girl Doll for Christmas this year. Our neice recieved one a few years ago and Audree has been begging for one since. She got a few matching outfits which she thought soooooo cool lol

We made our way to the American Girl Doll store thie past Saturday so Audree could spend her gift card Brett's parents gave her. We made it special with just the 3 of us, which is a rare thing that happens these days. It was nice to spend quality time with her, and she soaked up every minute of it.

When we arrived she was in heaven! She wanted to buy the entire store and look at everything. We started out by eating in the bistro where they bring the american girl doll a litle cup of lemonade which audree though was neat. She drank it and made us think the doll drank it hahaha

After lunch we headed to get the doll, Rachel is what she has named it, her done. Yes they have a salon and you pick out a hair style, heck you can even get your doll a facial which i said no to lol

Audree picked out a hairstyle, we watched her get her hair done, we picked out a few things and made it out of the store ALIVE! She proudly carried her doll and wanted everyone to see it on the way to the ice skating rink!

We told Audree we would take her ice skating for the very first time. She was super excited and couldn't wait. The rink was CRAZY packed but she did great. Brett took her because my ankles are very weak and ice skating kills them :( Audree could walk on them really really good, so she thought once she hit the ice she would be able to do the same...... WRONG lol Brett caught her and she just died laughing. She made her way around the rink over and over and over by holding on to the rails on the side. She thought she was hot stuff.

We spent New Years Eve with just the 4 of us, and we loved it. My work closed at 2, so we got to go home early WHOO HOO! I stopped at the store and got us things to make cupcakes with. The girls LOVE making things, esp cupcakes. We all got dressed and ready and went to a local japanense steakhouse and sat at the hibachi grill. Audree LOVES it and scarfs their food down, not to mention they put on a pretty darn cool show! After dinner, we headed home, made a fire and played board games with the girls. They were passed out by 9:30 they just couldn't make it anymore. Brett and I stayed up, watched some tv, I finsihed reading book 1 of the Hunger Games and watched the ball drop. We started the new year with a big hug and kiss!! We can't wait to see what 2013 has in store for us. We will be celebrating 11 years of being together and 8 years of marriage, Audree will turn 5 and start Kindergarten in the fall :( (this mommy is already sad) and Ashlyn will turn 3 and start mothers day out. Hope everyone has an AWESOME New Years!!!

Christmas

Well its been just a little bit since Ive blogged. These last few months have been crazy busy and I just haven't been able to get to it :(

Our Christmas was amazing, we had several of them as usual. The girls made out like bandits, and Brett & I did pretty well ourselves.

A few days before Christmas we opened gifts with my aunt, uncle, cousins and Nana. We weren't supposed to exchange with the kiddos, but of course we both broke the rules and caved. My cousins are to the age where they just want money :( Kind of sad, but makes the shopping easy! We gave them each visa giftcards and they were more than satisifed with it. Ash got a big cinderella doll and a matching dress for her. Audree got ALL of the princess barbies, which she was so excited about!! They stayed for a few days and we all just hung out. I just love when they come into town. The girls play with them until they can play no more! We rode around and looked at Christmas lights, played games and just overall had fun.

My work ended up being closed on Christmas Eve which was a blessing!!! We did my mom and stepdad's Christmas that morning. Brett & I got 8 new crosses for our cross wall, the girls got tons of toys and of course uncle chris bought them a huge barbie cruise ship which has given them hours of play time. After we got everything cleaned up, we attended Christmas Eve Candlelight service which was amazing! They tell stories from the bible, we sing Christmas carols and just enjoy everyone's company. After service we headed back home, made a fire, baked Santa some cookies, spread our reindeer food out on the lawn and watched The Grinch by the fireplace. It was by the far the best Christmas Eve we've had. Just to be at home with my 3 favorite people and not running around like crazy!

Christmas morning I woke up @ 5:30 just waiting for the girls to make some kind of movement, but no luck. I tossed and turned for a good hour before I couldn't take it anymore. I woke them up and said SANTA'S BEEN HERE!!! Their faces were filled with huge smiles and they couldn't wait to go look. They started playing like crazy and I had to make them stop so they couldn't open up their presents from us! Audree was a pro, she was ripping paper off like there was no tomorrow, Ash on the other hand..... well she was a little slow lol She likes to take her time and make sure every single piece of paper if off of the present lol

After our Christmas, we headed to my dad and stepmom's. Its our only stop on Christmas Day thank goodness! My stepmom made her traiditional Christmas Day breakfast and then the gifts were unwrapped! We spent the morning/afternoon over there and then headed back home to clean up the mess we left that morning. It took us hours to get everything out of the boxes and put away but it was FINALLY done. Brett had to work the next day, but I took off to be with the girls. they played and played and played, Id say it was a very merry christmas for us!

We hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas as well.
