Swine Flu

Okay so I was not too worfdried about this whole "Swine Flu" outbreak until last night. I wasdas watching the news and oh goodness my anxiety went through the roasdof! I mean there are 10 statasdes here in the US that have had confirmed cases, not to meddsntion the little toddlader who passed awaassay from it. I know he was from Mexico and here visiting but still he was in the United States. Its scary how schools are shutting down, they are posssstponing activities, etc. Im very nervous and sacred of a pandemic hitting the US. I posted a poll at the bottoasdsam so make sure you vote!!!

Some Q&A's I found over the Swine Flu

Q: Do I need a mask to prevent getting an infection?

A: Standard iasdssue surgical masks offer little if any protection against the virus. The best advice is to keep your hands clean, wash surfaces regularly and dispoasdse of tissues as they are used.

NHS officials are beinasdg issued with special masks but these are only effectiasdve when used by trained personnel exposed to the virus - other precautions must be taken to prevent infeadction

Q: What is a pandemic?

A: If the flu spreaasdds over a wide geographic area and affects a large proportion of the population it goes beyond an epidemic and becomes a pandemic.

According to the Health Protection Agency, an influenasdza pandemic is defined as a new or novel influenza virus that spreads easily between humans.

When new influenza viruses are introadsduced into the environment, humans do not have any natural immunity to protect against them.

Therefore, there is a risk that that new influenzasda viruses could develop into a pandemic, if the virus passes easily from human-to-human.

Q: Have humans been infected with swine flu in the past?

A: Cases of swine flu in humasdans usually occur after a history of exposure to pigs. For example, direct or close contact with inasdfected pigs.

Cases of person-to-person transmasission have been previously reported but are rare.

There have been no cases identified in the UK for at least 10 years.

A single case of swine flu was repsdorted in November 2008 in Spain. The person only had mild symptoms.

Q: Does current medication offer protection against swine flu?

A: Relenza and Tamadiflu are not cures. The drugs lessen the effects of the symptoms, and can mean the difference between life and deaadth in marginal cases.

Primary Care Trusts are supposed to have a two-week supply, from national stockpiles.

Q: How dangerous is it?

A: Thousands of people have been made ill by swine flu - with some cases proadving fatal.

Tests show that the antiviral drugs oseltaadmavir (Tamiflu) and zanamivir (Relenza) appear to be effective against the human swine influenza H1N1 strain.

: What is swine flu?

A: Swine flu is the name being given to the outbreak of the H1N1 influenza virus, which is a mutated virus that has parts of swine, avian and human flus.

It is also the name commonly given to the strain of more common influenza that usually infects pigs.

It is caused by type A influenza viruses and there are many different types of swine flu.

Q: How do humans catch it?

A: While humans do not catch the more common forms of swine flu, this current strain of the H1N1 virus does infect humans becauadse during mutation it was combined with parts of a human flu virus.

The original change to the virus is thougadht to have happened inside a pig, which was then caught by someone in close contact with it in Mexico.

But the World Health Organisadsation has now confirmed this strain of swine flu can spread from human to human, raising fears of a global pandemic.

Doctors don't yet know how easily the virus spreads between people, but experts believe it spreads in the same way as seasonal flu - through cougadhing and sneezing.

Q: How long does the flu virus survive on surfaces?

A: The flu virus survives for roadughly 24 hours on hard surfaces, two hours on soft surfaces.

Are you scared about the Swine Flu?

Im so lucky to have a stepmom who is just like a mom to me. We hope to continue to do this and keep it up. We did stop and let Audree play on their little playground. I think she enjoyed it, do you?

Being Best Friends With Someone Who Is Infertile

If you read my last post then most of you know that this week is National Infertility Week.

I have been asked by my best friend and Audree's Godmother to share my views on being fertile and as well as being so close to someone who struggles with infertility.

Some people think that only people who are infertile have a hard time with the diagnosis, but in reality it effects more than that. They have a mother, a father, brothers, sisters, aunt's, uncles, cousins, friends, etc. INFERTILITY AFFECTS ALL OF US.

In March of 2007 Brett decided he was ready to start trying for our family. I was excited and was ready to get going.

*First month rolled around and I started.
*Second month rolled around there was Aunt Flow again.
*Third month rolled around TADA Aunt Flow showed her HIDIOUS face once again.
*Fourth month we finally were pregnant.

Now at this time I thought GOSH 4 months that is a LONG time, but in reality its NOTHING compared to what an “infertile” couple goes through.

When I saw the + sign on the home pregnancy test I called Tiffany right away. She told me to grab another prego test and come over. Of course I couldn't pee so Tiffany was making me down TONS of water and sticking my hands in cold water. Finally I said okay Tiff I think I have to pee.... So to make sure we didn't miss; Tiffany had me pee in a hairspray cap. I know you all are probably thinking that is weird and gross haha but we wanted to make sure the little bit of pee I did have we could test with. The word “pregnant” came up within seconds andI think we both screamed.

This whole time this was going on you have to remember Zach and Tiffany, who have been struggling to get pregnant, are there. They were there for US, and they were so supportive. We are in THEIR home and we are telling them that we are pregnant. I remember Zach telling Brett CONGRATS DAD, and Tiffany & I just hugged. Let me tell you it takes a STRONG woman to be able to do that.

The next day Tiffany took me to Barnes & Nobles and bought me a belly book and a book that was called Great Expectations. Tiffany didn’t have to do this, but she did. She wanted to make sure that I had everything I needed to know about being a first time preggers.

When my due date drew closer Tiffany was preparing to throw me a baby shower. I remember getting an email from her about 1 month before the shower with something I did not expect. She wrote me a long heartfelt email with so many deep things she was feeling. She did not think that she could go through with the shower. You see Tiffany throwing me a baby shower was so very hard on her. She had to buy "BABY" shower things, she had to buy"BABY" diapers, "BABY" pacifiers, "BABY" bows, "BABY" gifts. Everything was BABY. This was a hard time for her and she didn't think she could go through with it. I couldn’t imagine trying for a child for so long and haven’t been successful, and having to go buy anything “BABY” related. After a long heartfelt chat between the 2 of us Tiffany pulled up enough strength & courage to throw me the baby shower. I can never ever show or share enough of how much that meant to me. She did not have to throw me a baby shower or be involved as she was but she did it for me.

2 days later, my daughter was born @ 32 weeks and was an emergency c-section. I woke up and was bleeding and little did we all know I was having a placenta abruption. This all came about @ 3:30 in the morning. Zach and Tiffany rushed to the hospital to be by our side. They could have stayed home and in bed considering they both had to work that day, but they gave that up to make sure we were all okay. They constantly called, emailed, texted and asked for updates on her and made sure that she was pulling through and being a trooper!

They have always been there for Audree and treat her like one of their own. I am so proud to be able to call them not only our best friends but Audree’s Godmother and Godfather.

I also wanted to touch basis on what its like for me as a “fertile” woman to have an “infertile” best friend.

Some of you might be thinking what is the importance of this? Let me explain a little but from my point of view:

I didn’t understand a lot of what was going on, the terms they used like DH, CD, HPT, CM, and all the other “code” words that go along with this. I didn’t understand the important of what cycle day you were on, I didn’t understand how so many things had to be just right in order to conceive, I didn’t understand why they didn’t opt for other options such as IUI and or In-vitro. I didn’t understand A LOT. You see there are so many things that “infertile” women go through and have to learn. Ive googled until I think I can’t google anymore and Ive asked until I think Ive turned blue in the face. Ive read other people’s blogs about infertility and try to learn about their issues and their problems as well.

Being a “fertile” woman it was and is still hard for me at times to discuss things with Tiffany. You see I would never EVER want to hurt her in anyway and sometimes I think that if I am constantly talking about my daughter and my child that it will upset her. Im scared at times to talk about how bad I want to be pregnant again. Im scared to tell her things that Audree is doing. Im scared to “brag” about Audree and new things she is accomplishing. Im scared at times to ask her how her ultrasound appointments went, Im scared to ask her how she is feeling, Im scared to ask her if Aunt Flow has shown her face yet.

BUT I do want to EMPHASIZE that Tiffany has NEVER EVER made me feel like I was bothering her and hurting her feelings by talking about the above, its just something that I struggle with asking. Im personally scared of asking her anything that would upset her. She has told me over and over that its okay and she wants to me to ask. Im getting there, just slowly!

Watching Tiffany struggle through her infertility struggle has been hard. I’ve seen the ups, Ive seen the downs, Ive seen the false +’s, I’ve seen her cry until there were no tears left, Ive seen her so mad that she probably had fire coming out of her ears, Ive seen her question Why me? Why us? God Why?

BUT through all of this I’ve seen her grow into the woman she is today. Ive seen her faith grow 150% in the Lord. Ive seen her and Zach become one of the most strongest couples that Ive ever come into contact with. Ive seen her become someone that so many people look up to and adore, including myself. I think the best thing of all that I personally have learned is not to take anything for granted. Appreciate everything that you are given in this life and never ever overlook anything no matter how small it may be.

Tiffany, I know you and Zach will get your precious blessing from above. When that day comes I feel like the whole world will be rejoicing with us. I can not wait to see the words IM PREGNANT, I can’t wait to hear the words IM PREGNANT, I can’t wait to see the 1st ultrasound, I can’t wait to see the beautiful baby. We ♥ you guys!!!

♥ Here are some pics of me and tiff over the years ♥

National Infertility Week

This week is National Infertility Week.

This week is for women experiencing infertility. Our friends know first hand how many women out there feel and how many women are longing for that moment that there prayers have been answered and they can experience motherhood!

As most of you know our best friends and Audree's Godparents have been diagnozed with unexplained infertility. They have struggled for over 3 years now to get pregnant with their first child. It has been a journey for them and I admire them for how strong they are.

In honor of this week, Tiffany will be spending the week sharing little stories and insights about infertility, in hopes that it will help many women cope with infertility and mom's out there understand what infertility is and how much it hurts to be faced with infertility.

You can help to spread the word and help others understand exactly how infertility can effect your life, just be reposting this!!

~~March of Dimes Walk~~

WOW!!! I can not believe that today was the March of Dimes walk. It seems like just yesterday we were finding out when it was.

There were clowns, face painting, sno cones, popcorn, moonwalks, slides, band, raffle baskets, food, drinks, etc. It was just a whole lot of fun for the entire family.

We ended up walking around 3 miles this morinng and it felt GREAT!!! We put Audree in her little car and she drove around the sidewalk. She was so funny in that car. She would prop her feet up on the top and just lean back and go.

We got to see some of the NICU nurses and I LOVED seeing them. These people took care of Audree during her most criticial moments while in there. They helped SAVE her life and helped get her to where she is today. Those NICU nurses are apart of our family and will forever be apart of our hearts. THANK YOU LADIES!!

Our team had 29 people walking and I was excited to see all of them!

Much Needed Prayers

I know I have been asking for some prayers lately concerning not only my family but for others as well. Tonight I am writing all of you to please help me with another prayer.

My best friend Tiffany has been in some hard situations the last few months. The one I am going to write about is one the most scariest and hardest one I think she is going through at this time.

Her mother had a brain aneurism in 2001. The Dr's went in and removed it, but unfortunatley it left her with some damages that could never be fixed. She was declared legally blind due to her not having peripheral vision. Thankfully, this was one of the ONLY things she was left with.

For those who aren't very sure what an aneursym is I thought I would tell you.

Aneurysm- is an abnormal bulging outward of one of the arteries in the brain. Brain aneurysms are often discovered when they rupture, causing bleeding into the brain or the space closely surrounding the brain called the subarachnoid space, causing a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Subarachnoid hemorrhage from a ruptured brain aneurysm can lead to a hemorrhagic stroke, brain damage and death.

About 2 weeks ago her mother went in to see the Dr to discuss some things. The Dr stated that they found another brain aneyrysm as well as a tumor on her brain. She went in the next week to have an angiogram performed so they could see things in more detail. They said the aneurism is tinier than her last one and that they caught very early. There were discussions of surgery but due to it being on the small side this could be several weeks out. They could not see the brain tumor so they scheduled her for a MRI.

Today Tiffany's mother recieved the results from her MRI. She has 8 buldging, ruptured disks in her back, which Dr's do not think is fixable. She is basically walking around with a broken back and are very surprised at how she is even walking.

Her brain aneurysm & brain tumor are on the left side of the brain. Surgery is not an option right now for her due to her health. If they were to do surgery she could end up brain dead and of course none of us want to even hear those words.

Aneurysm's are very tricky things. People can live for years without them even affecting their lives, while at other times they can destroy lives in a matter of seconds. Anything can trigger the anerursym to burst.

The Dr wants to bring Adelle back in 4 months to perform another angiogram. If the tumor and or anerusym has grown at all she will have to go into immediate surgery.

I am asking all of you, anyone of you to please stop for a few seconds and say a prayer. I have wrote one so if you would just like to whisper this quietly to yourself so that they Lord can hear you feel free. OR you can say your own little prayer to him, remember he is always listening.

"Lord Our Saviour, please watch over Adelle and her family. Lord please give them the strength they need to get through this difficult time. I pray that you will wrap your arms around their family and hold them oh so tight so that they can feel your love. Lord I pray that you will protect Adelle from the struggles she is enduring right now in this life. I pray that you will give her comfort and peace and let her know that you will be with her at all times. Lord I pray that you will just bless Adelle and her family and keep them going and to never ever lose their faith. In your name we pray AMEN.

I found 2 quotes tonight that I want everyone to read.

"Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you" 1 Peter 5:7

"Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go" Joshua 1:9

STEP BY STEP

WELL AUDREE IS OFFICIALLY WALKING!!!
That is right ladies and gentleman my baby is now a walker!! Brett & I were playing with Audree tonight and I went to change her diaper. Well I sat her down to change her diaper and she kept playing with the wipes. So I handed Brett the box of wipes and stood Aud up so she could see them. She kept pointing at them and then BAM she just took off! I screamed, clapped, and of course bawled like a big baby. I'm so emotional when it comes to Audree, Ill probably have to admitted to DePaul for her first day of school haha!! Anywho she did it over and over and over again! She goes FAST too!! Here are 2 short videos we shot of her:

****HELP ME****

Okay so most of you know that Audree has been waking up in the middle of the night, oh between 1 & 3 for probably the last 4 months. So what have we done? We grab her and put her in our bed with out and she is out like a light again. SOMETIMES but very rarely, do we try and get her back to sleep without picking her up. I

know part of this is due to me.....I ♥ giving Audree her sippy cup with milk in it while she lays in our bed and we cuddle and watch tv. Well she falls asleep in there then I move her before we are ready for bed. Then she wakes up in the middle of the night and probably freaks out because she is in her room and not ours.

So the past 2 nights I have made her fall asleep in her room. Im telling you its R-O-U-G-H! She wants to laugh and play and stand up, throw her pap pap (passy), etc. I means he can be DEAD TIRED, but as soon as she hits that crib she wants to play. So I tried the "tough" mom role. I read to just let her cry, do not go and get her and she will eventually realize mommy isn't coming and that she needs to go to bed on her own.

Last night I lasted oh about 5 minutes with her screaming and couldn't take it anymore. I was crying, Brett had his head in his hands and we were stressing. She kept screaming momma momma momma and of course acted like she couldn't catch her breath. Granted when I got in there, she had very few tears at all. So I stayed in there for a while and rubbed her head, then daddy took over so I could get things ready for today. She did go to sleep FINALLY, but we were in there with her. She woke up 2 more times before 10 and I went and there, gave her pap pap and she was back asleep. When she woke up in the middle of the night, Brett just grabbed her and put her in our bed.

So tonight, she was so sleeeeeeeeepy in the car. I knew it was going to be EASY AS PIE to get get her to sleep in her own crib. HOW WRONG WAS I?!?! As soon as she hit the crib,s he went in to play mode. I walked away and told her if you dont want to go to sleep while mommy is in here you will have to go to sleep by yourself. I did last about 10 minutes tonight, but i was in the next room crying. I gave in and went into her room. She was sitting in her crib just crying for me. So of course I told her I was sorry and rubbed her little head until she went night night.

HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO LET YOUR BABY CRY?!?! It KILLS me and TEARS me apart to do that to her. I feel like a HORRIBLE person for letting her just sit there and cry my name out. Is she scared? Is she lonely? Does something hurt? I dont know what to do. I LOVE her sleeping in our room in the middle of the night because I like to cuddle with her, but I know that's only hurting us and her for when she gets older. Ive read it could be seperation anxiety and I can't stand the thought of leaving her in her room if she wants us. If you have been through this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me!! I need advice.

If today was your last day

*I like this song*

If Today Was Your Last Day

My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day's a gift & not a given right
Leave no stone unturned
Leave your fears behind &
Try to take the path less travelled by
That first step you take is the longest stride

If today was your last day& tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you had?

If today was your last day
Against the grain should be a way of life
What's worth the price is always worth the fight
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try
So live like you're never livin twice
Don't take the free ride in your own life

If today was your last day& tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you had?

Would you call those friends you've never seen?
Reminisce old memories?
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one your dreaming of?
Swear up & down to God abovethat you'll finally fall in love?

If today was your last day
Would you make it up by mending a broken heart
You know it's never too lateto shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are
So do whatever it takes'cause you can't rewind
A moment in this lifelet nothing stand in your way
Cause the hands of time are never on your side

If today was your last day& tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you had?
Would you call those friends you've never seen?
Reminisce old memories?
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one your dreaming of
Swear up & down to God above
That you'll finally fall in love?
If today was your last day

Power of Prayers

For any of you that aren't firm believes in God or you think that he doesn't listen to you when you talk to him let me share this story.

As most of you know we recieved word last week that my stepmom was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia-atypia. We were worried, scared, nervous, upset, and I think any emotion one can possibly feel we felt it.

Tuesday morning my stepmom went in @ 6 am to have a D&C. For those of you who aren't familiar with a D&C here is what it is: In D&C, the D stands for dilation, which means enlarging. Curettage (the C) means scraping. Together, this procedure involves expanding or enlarging the entrance of a woman's uterus so that a thin, sharp instrument can scrape or suction away the lining of the uterus and take tissue samples. Most of you are probably thinking I thought they did this when you had a miscarriage and you are right, this is preformed but its also used for other health issues. When the Dr came out and spoke to us he said he got a lot of tissue out (which wasn't a very good sign) but said he would send all samples in to the pathology lab and we should know something Thursday. They would grade the "cancer" in stages from 1 to 3. 1 being she would just need a hysterectomy here in town, 2 & 3 meaning we would be going to see the oncologist in Austin. So off we went and had the dreaded wait.

After 2 LONG & HARD days of worrying today was the day for the news.We sat all today waiting and waiting for the Dr to call us with results from the dnc. (the time was slooooooooooooooooooooow too). Finally and I mean FINALLY because he called around 4:30, the Dr called with results from the pathology lab. I am getting goosebumps as I type this out. The Dr says well D.D................ THERE RESULT IS CLEAR! YES YOU ARE READING THAT RIGHT THE PATHOLOGY CAME BACK NEGATIVE FOR ANYTHING!! My stepmom sat there in shock and said I dont understand what you are saying.... It was just there, all of that was just there 1 week ago. He said D.D I do not know how to explain this, its something I can't explain but you are clear, nothing is there, no oncologist! The pathology results from the biopsy she had showed she had cancer, now its gone. She is COMPLETELY clear. I fell like I can not say it enough, my stepmom was healed!! HOW? I'll tell you how, our praying and your praying paid off & God listened to our prayers.
She will still have the hysterecomy because after this scare she just wants it O-U-T, OUT! AND I dont blame her, heck I would want it out too!! So we went from being scared out of our minds and didn't know what to expect to being the happiest person on the Earth! One thing I do want to say is women please dont skip your yearlt visits. I know its something we all dread, and believe me i DREADED mine with a passion Tuesday but I did it. It could save your life!

I prayed and prayed and prayed to the Lord and others in Heaven to heal my stepmother. I asked her mother, her father, her memaw & pepaw to please take their arms and wrap them around her during this time. Help her, heal her, please do anything to get her through this. I know some of yall prayed for us & I am so THANKFUL for you all, you will never ever know how thankful I am.

So if you are a skeptic in believing in faith and the Lord, I hope this has changed your views, even just a tiny bit.

Psalm 107:19-21

"Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress; he sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from destruction. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind"

Thank you God, Thank you Todranny, Thank you David, Thank you Memaw, Thank you Pepaw, thank you EVERYBODY who prayed for my family.

Before I Was A Mom

*BEFORE I WAS A MOM*
- I found this on one of my friends blogs. How true is this?

Before I was a Mom...I made and ate hot meals. I had unstained clothing. I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom... I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom... I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to lullabies.

Before I was a Mom... I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about Immunizations.

Before I was a Mom... I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, chewed on, peed on or pinched by tiny fingers. I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts, and my body. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom... I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom... I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom... I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom... I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom

Easter Weekend

Well it was Audree's 2nd Easter but she was too little last year to do anything. She should have been still baking last Easter but of course she didn't want to stay in there.

We woke up and went to church Sunday morning and we thought we would take Audree to the service. GEEZ... i couldn't tell you a thing that he said. Audree was so wild during service. She was laughing at the people behind us. A 9 yr old boy thought it would be fun to make faces at Audree the whole time. HAHA it was funny and did keep her entertained but we learned our lesson... next service NURSERY!!

After church we came home and the Easter bunny had left Audree some eggs in the house. I told Audree the Easter bunny must have came when we were at church, and he knew it was raining so she had to hunt them inside. She was so cute getting all the eggs and putting them in her basket!! Afterwards she opened her Easter basket from us and she loved playing with all of the toys and books. She took a nap before we headed to Grammy and PaPaw's so she could be in a good mood!

We headed over to Brett's parents after Audree's nap and we ate some YUMMY chicken fajitas my father in law made. Due to my diet I can't have many carbs so I couldn't eat the tortillas but I think I had half a jar of jalapenos haha. Cousin Laura and Aunt Emily got Audree a litle easter bunny and a cute dress. Grammy & PaPaw gave her some candy, a new bathing suit, a shirt, pants, yogurt melts and some banana getber cookies! She raked it in! After lunch the girls hunted eggs outside and then we played with confetti eggs. Laura got EVERYONE, but me and Audree. We were the lucky ones of the day. She had a blast with those eggs and I loved seeing her have such a good time.

After Brett's parents, we ran to my mom's and said a quick hi. We had Easter with them Saturday night when we got home from vacation. I didn't get to take any pics because my camera was dead :o( My mom did hunt eggs for her and stuffed them with socks! THANK YOU MOM!!! We needed socks really bad for her. Mom also got her a lamb and lots of clothes! Nonna spoils her.

The final stop of the day was to my dad's. Grandpa grilled out ribs and chicken and grandma made some cheese dip. My dad got Audree the cutest little Dora couch and Audree loved it!! She was so amazed at this thing and she climbed on it all night long. They also got her a little doll that speaks English and Spanish and teaches her her nose, eyes, toes, tummy, and plays games! It was really cute. Brett and my stepmom went outside and played basketball (my stepmom WHOOPED him) and then we headed in for the night. Audree crashed before we even got halfway down my dad's street.

We are DEF blessed and God has blessed us.

Were Home

Well we are home and it sure does feel good!! Dont get me wrong we LOVED being away but nothing is better than the feeling of home!!

We had a BLAST while in San Antonio!! We left Thursday morning around 10:30 and we were ready to put Audree's 1st long car ride to the test. I was nervous because she's never been in the car longer than 1.5 hours!! So off we went and lets just say she was conked out by the time we hit Temple and slept all the way to San Antonio city limits!! When she woke up she was in such a GOOD MOOD!! We got to our hotel, checked in and off we went to find us some food. We ate at a place called "Ritas" and they had the best taco salad Ive ever had!! Their jalapenos were really hot too, which I loved because most places dont have hot japs anymore :o)

After we ate we walked the riverwalk a bit and then off we went to ride of the river boat cruise that talks about all the hotels, buildings and sites on the riverwalk. It was Audree's first boat ride and she LOVED it!! It was pretty hot Thursday so we decided after the boat ride we would head back to the hotel and go swimming. Now anyone who knows what we experianced last summer would think we were crazy. Audree did NOT like the water at all last yr. She would scream and cry and oh lordy it was awful. We were ready to be brave and try this again, plus she had to wear her first bikini!!

Brett got into the water first and I sat with Audree on the side of the pool to let her put her feet in and kick around. She liked it so we thought what the hey lets go. So Brett grabbed Audree and they walked around the pool, needless to say she wasn't so thrilled with that idea. She started crying and said momma momma momma so I came to the rescue and got her out. We walked over to the hot tub which at that time was only 98 degrees so we put Audree in thinking she might like the warm water better. She wasn't too keen on that idea either at first but once we started playing with her she LOVED it!! We played in the hot tub until it started warming up and we thought we would give the big pool another chance. So off we went and the verdict............. SUCCESS!! She was loving it. She splished, splashed and had a blast!!

After swimming we went up to the hotel, took showers and let Audree take a nap. She was exhausted from all the hard playing we did. After she woke up we went to the Riverwalk to find a place to eat. There were so many choices but we found a Rain Forest Cafe. We've never ate there so we thought we would give it a try. There was a wait but we wanted to wait it out! This place was SO neat!! The whole place was decorated with butterflies, lions, panda's, fishes, etc and they all moved like real life! Every 30 minutes they had "thunderstorms" were the place would go dim, they would have lightening and thunder and all the animals would start moving! I have to say it was so cool!! After dinner we walked around some more and then headed back in to the hotel for the night!

Saturday we woke up and ate breakfast at our favorite place on the riverwalk ZUNI. We have ate here every time we have gone since I coached cheerleading and we had competitions up down there. I just LOVE their breakfast food. After breakfast we had good intentions on going to the San Antonio Zoo. Now I know yall are probably thinking "intentions" what does she mean by that. Well here is the story. We are on the road and we pull into the zoo. There were NO PARKING SPOTS ANYWHERE so we drove around for about 15 minutes and finally found one. We all get out, change diapers, and then Brett says uh.......... I said uh what? Well low and behold we have a flat. In my mind Im like dude lets just go to the zoo and fix it when we get out. In Brett's mind (mind you he is very anal) we had to leave and fix it right then and there. So we pack back into the car (im pouting haha) and we drive around trying to find a gas station. NO LUCK there was not one anywhere around. So I said lets just go back to the hotel i dont want to even go anymore. Brett said no we are going back. So off we go BACK to the hotel. Can't find a parking spot after 30 min of driving around. So we go BACK to the hotel and we found a tire place. They patched my tire and off we went back to the riverwalk. We went to the Wax Museum and Ripley's believe it or not. I LOVE THAT PLACE!! We took pictures and walked around and looked at everything. We grabbed lunch at Hard Rock and headed back to the hotel so Audree could take a nap. Her nap turned into a 2.5 hour nap and I ended up crashing with her. While we were asleep Brett said people got stuck in an elevator in our hotel and they had to pull them out. THANK GOODNESS IT WASN"T US!!! When I woke up I was so dizzy the whole room was spinning. I had to lay in bed and be completely still. After about a hr I felt better and we went and ate dinner at Salt Grass IT WAS SO YUMMY!! We went site seeing for a bit on our own and we headed back in for the night.

This morning we woke up, headed down to the hotel breakfast bar and then headed out to the zoo. If youve never been to the San Antonio Zoo you need to go!! It was so much fun and they had soooo many things there. It was 100 times better than our little waco zoo. After the zoo we started our trip back home. Audree and I took a little nap and then before we knew it we were home!!

We had so much fun while we were gone and it was our first family vacation with Audree!! Here are some pics from our weekend!!

INTRODUCING....

the newest meber of the buechel clan!!! Whiskers Buechel He is the cutest little thing Ive ever seen and Audree loves him!! She was standing at his cage early and just pointing at him.

Bracelets Anyone?

Most of you know that I have been posting several blogs about a friend named Crystal and her sweet Baby Bentley. Ive never said this before but when we found out Audree was a girl Brett wanted to name her Bentley. Yeah I know its pretty weird huh? Anywho with her heart surgery approaching there have a few things everyone is doing to try and help out with the cost. Thei health insurance covers a portion of Bentley's surgery.. but they are responsible for a certain percent of the open heart surgery itself, along with a rather high deductible times two because of the way the year falls with the surgery date, portion of all Bentley's many appointments/testing, and they are also responsible for Bentley's special formula she must have that insurance usually covers for most babies, but they have refused to cover any of Bentley's.

4 yr wedding anniversary

okay so I probably wont be on the computer tomorrow. We are heading out to San Antonio tomorrow morning around 8 am!

What can I say. 4 years.... 4 years together in marriage with the love of my life. I can not believe how fast the years have flown by us. We have been together for 7 and united in marriage for 4.

If you would have asked me 14 years ago if I thought I would end up married to Brett I would have laughed in your face. Yes I was only 10 years old when we met and I was most likely not thinking about marriage. You see Brett & I rode the same bus to school when we were younger. We talked from time to time but nothing major. We ended up talking more when we hit high school.

So I will restate the above question. If you asked me 11 years ago if I thought I would be married to Brett I would have looked at you like you were crazy. I just had a thought in my head that we were better off friends. We tried the dating thing and it just didn't work out. We actually tried the dating thing more than 1 time. We went to homecoming together in 10th grade and that was actually the night of our first kiss.

I actually got grounded from my car the 1st day of my Jr yr because I took a girl to lunch that my mom didn't like. haha what a rebel huh? So in return Brett offered to take me to school everyday and bring me home. I have to admit during this time my feelings grew so strong for him but I never knew if he felt the same way.

On March 1 2002 he asked me out. I said yes and we would just take it slow from there. We hung out, had fun, went on dates and just were the normal teenage couple. When he graduated from high school that May he went on a Sr trip with some friends to Mexico. It killed me inside to know he would be in another country and wouldn't be able to talk to me a lot. I stayed with him the night before he left until 2 that morning. I cried when he left. The next day I stayed up crying because I missed him so much. Courtney & I even tried calling the hotel in Mexico to try and track him down (haha remember that court?). That is when I realized that this was more than just a high school romance. He flew home early and I went with his dad to pick him up. I cried when I saw him and jumped into his arms when I saw him. I know from that day forward i would be with Brett until the day that I died.

We moved in together the day after I graduated (May 03) and he proposed to me December 20, 2003. We started planning our wedding and united as one on April 9 2005. The day that we got married was one of the best days of my life (it is tied with Audree's birth).

Brett & I are still in love, more now than we have ever been. Our feelings and emotions have grown so strong for each other. Some people say over time their emotions and feelings die or they change. Yes they are right they do change, but in our case they have changed into deeper emotions.

Brett you have made me the happiest woman on this Earth. You have treated me like I was a princess since the day we met. You made my life complete once you gave me the most precious gift from God. Audree is my most prized possession and I know she is yours too. You are the best daddy and husband anyone could have ever asked for.
