Well only 2 more weeks until I begin my 2
nd trimester,
ahhhh I can't believe I just
said typed that! The weeks are just flying by and I am really shocked at how fast its going. I know it will eventually slow down and Ill be typing WILL IT EVER BE THE END?!?!
hahaRight now I have been feeling WONDERFUL and AWESOME! I had someone tell me that I am "glowing" and that I am rocking the baby bump today! Let me just tell you I had a smile that went from ear to ear! You see I busted out my maternity jeans and a ls maternity shirt today! The maternity shirt is like a regular long sleeve shirt, but its a stretchy kind so I say it accentuates the bump
haha.
We listen to the baby as a family every night and I always get the biggest smile on my face! I could lay there all day and just listen to the little thump thump thump! I noticed something different this week while listening. While searching for the heartbeat, I
would hear some crazy noises, the heartbeat would come then VANISH, then come back then VANISH all in between those weird noises. Anyone want to guess what the noises are? DING DING DING its the baby moving!! This little booger must just think my uterus is a playground
haha! It moves all over the place, which I think is the most amazing thing EVER! With
Audree she never really moved, so I am very excited about this. I really honestly think I have felt a flutter, but I just can't get a good feel to be 100% for sure. It is still really early to feel it (felt
Audree flutter @ 15 weeks), but there is
definitely something going on in that region!
Audree is still giving the baby hugs and kisses and says la loo (love you) everyday. I think she is going to be a
protective big sister! She grabs the heart
doppler and asks to phone the baby. She has to hold the speaker and when we hear the baby's heartbeat she says
yay!! She is just so adorable!
How your baby's growing:The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it.
---I THINK I HAVE A FELT A FLUTTER BUT I CAN'T REALLY TELL!!!--His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (
about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.
How your life's changing:Your uterus has grown to the point where your
healthcare provider can now feel the top of it (the
fundus) low in your abdomen, just above your pubic bone. You may already be into maternity clothes, especially if this isn't your first pregnancy. If you're still fairly small and not yet ready for maternity clothes, you've no doubt noticed that your waist is thickening and that you're more comfortable in loose, less restrictive clothing. You may begin to feel
heartburn (also called acid indigestion), a burning sensation that often extends from the bottom of your breastbone to your lower throat. Many women get heartburn for the first time during pregnancy, and those who've previously had bouts of heartburn may find that it gets worse. During pregnancy, the placenta produces a lot of the hormone progesterone, which relaxes the valve that separates the esophagus from the stomach. Particularly when you're lying down, gastric acid can seep back up the pipe, which causes the uncomfortable burning sensation. For many women the problem doesn't begin (or get worse) until later in pregnancy, when your growing uterus starts to push up on your stomach. The discomfort may range from mildly annoying to intense and distracting.
