Our Little Gardner

This past week I was at Target and was browsing the dollar bins. They always have fun, cheap stuff for Audree to play with. I saw they had little flower pots that came with everything you needed in order to grow flowers. I grabbed 3 of them and was so excited to get home so Audree & I could start growing some flowers!!


Thursday night we planted the daisy's and yesterday we planted the sunflowers. Audree had so much fun doing this by "herself". About 5 minutes after we planted them she asked me "Mommy are my flowers finished growing yet?" haha Has patience just like her momma. It was fun and she had a good time, I hope they actually grow

Momma

2 weekends ago Brett's momma, grandmother, flew in from Kentucky to see us. I was really excited to see momma, she is one of the sweetest women Ive ever met.

Friday we went to Brett's parents house and let her see the girls and introduce her to little miss Ashlyn. Audree took very well to Momma and wasn't bashful at all, like she normally is. Momma got told hold Ashlyn and I think Ashlyn stole her ♥ but then again who's ♥ doesn't she steal?

Saturday my inlaws had a cookout for momma. we hung out at my inlaws pretty much all day and just spent time with momma.

Sunday Brett's cousins came in from Austin to see Momma. We had quite an adventure that morning. A snake about 4 feet long was curled up on their front porch. All the guys went out and tried to get it, but were unsuccesful. None of us knew what kind of snake it was and it wasn't a very friendly snake either. I ended up calling animal control and they sent 2 police officers out. They did about as well as we did on trying to kill it. Finally between the 6 of us we got it and my brother in law killed it.

Monday the girls stayed with Grammy, PawPaw and Momma while Brett & I were at work. Momma said they wore her out haha After work we all headed to Olive Garden before we said our goodbyes to momma.

2 Months Old

WOW!! Where has the time gone and why is my baby growing so fast?!?! Has it really been almost 2 months since I have birth to one of the most beautiful little girls in the entire world? I can't believe she will be 2 months old on Monday.

Ashlyn is growing so fast and it makes me sad in a way. I miss my teeny tiny girl, but at the same time ♥ watching her grow, grow, grow! She has DEF put on some weight since we switched from breastmilk to formula. I breastfed her for the first 5.5 weeks and quit right before I came back to work. I had mixed emotions and had a hard time with this as I breastfed Audree til she was 5 months old. Its just much harder with 2 kiddos plus I would have to drag my breast pump to and from work and store my milk in the freezer, which is a little weird bc everybody at work would see it haha

Ashlyn is also getting pretty vocal! She is gooing and gaaing all over the place which we just love! I tell Audree she is talking to her and Audree thinks that is just so neat. Speaking of Audree she is just the best big sister ive ever seen! She loves her baby sister more than anything! She is constantly touching her, giving her kisses, giving her hugs and loves to play with her, even though Ashlyn can't play back. Anytime were in the car, Audree holds Ashlyn's hands until we get where we are going. Now thats ♥

I think about Audree & Ashlyn all day while Im at work and I miss them sooooo much! I am constantly wondering what they are doing, how they are acting, and wonder about all the small things Im missing out on. Good thing is they stay with my mother and mother in law so I can check on them anytime I want! They are keeping both girls @ the same time, which they say has been a little challenge, esp since Audree is potty trained now and says she has to go potty but they are getting the hang of it. Just imagine feeding a bottle to Ashlyn and Audree says I gotta go haha its pretty amusing but a good workout at the same time :)

Here are some things my little princess is doing

* Holding her head up for periods of time
* Eats every 3-3.5 hours during the day and 5 hours at night
* LOVES being in her swing
* Smiling NON-stop at everything! Esp her big sister Audree
* Making the goo goo sounds, which just melts my ♥
* Loves when I sing or hum lullaby's to her (even though my singing isn't the greatest haha)
* Still sleeping in her bassinett by our bed, Im a weenie and wont put her in her crib yet
* Kicks her feet and swings her arms like crazy
* Loves it when we play patty cake with her, thats when we get the BIG smiles
* Loves sucking on her little hands, and tries to put everything in her mouth (passy, bib, hands, blankets)
* Still loves her baths

Memorial Day

Ive been slacking in the blog department, ive been working on this post since last Tuesday!! Getting to the computer is tough these days with 2 kiddos and going back to work! BUT Im trying to be better

This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend and we had a blast!


Saturday morning we started to set our pool up! Audree has been asking us every time we go in the garage to please put it up haha So my father in law came over early Saturday morning and off we went to start the adventure! I cleaned the bottom out really good and Brett & his dad worked on getting all the wrinkles out. We turned the water on about 10:30 and we didn't shut it off until around 8 that night. Audree was so excited but couldn't understand that she couldn't get in it!

Sunday we woke up and I really think the first words out of Audree's mouth was, is it time to swim yet? haha We had to run some errands that morning and Audree was not having it. We must have heard can we swim yet a million and one times! When we got home, Audree & I jumped in the pool while daddy watched Ashlyn and grilled out some delish ribs! Audree & I had a blast and it was nice to spend some one on one time with her.

Monday it was Memorial Day & we had a cookout for the family. We made some yummy fajitas, spanish rice, charro beans, and my sister in law made some of the best corn Ive ever had! Audree, our neice & I were the only ones that swam but we had sooooo much fun!
