Witches And Pirates And Poison Princess OH MY

Well another Halloween has come and gone. Its was such a fun filled month for us and I hated to see it end………. BUT its now on to more holidays 

Yesterday was jam packed for the girls! Audree had her school Halloween party which she just talked and talked and talked about. They all dressed up in Halloween shirts and/or their costumes. They got to have pizza for lunch, decorated their own treat bags, then trick or treated around the church and the other classrooms. After school the girls came up to my work to trick or treat. My work goes ALL OUT for Halloween and we invite locals in for about 2 hours. Afterwards they headed to my mother’s to go trick or treating there.

Once I got off work, I headed to my mother in laws for a pizza dinner before heading out to trick or treat with the girls. We with my sister in law, mother in law, niece and my mother in laws “son” toby (the dog). The girls LOADED up with candy and did such a wonderful job saying trick or treat and using their manners.

This year Audree decided to be a witch. At first she was going to be a nice little witch, but at the last minute she decided to be a scary witch. We painted her face green and added all the little details. She laughed hysterically when she saw herself in the mirror and I thought she was soooooo cute myself. We got lots of compliments on her outfit and face painting.

Ashlyn was a pirate princess this Halloween. She looked absolutely adorable!!! Much to my surprise she kept her little hat on that she has HATED wearing everytime we’ve tried it on her. Everyone just loved her costume 

We headed back home around 8:20 to get all washed up and in bed. The girls conked out as soon as their heads hit the pillow and I wasn’t too far behind! I Hope everyone had a wonderful & safe Halloween

Art Projects

Audree has been going to mothers day out for almost 2 months now. She is absolutley loving it!! She had a hard time the first month, cried when she got dropped off, and didn't want to be left. It broke my heart, but I knew if she kept going she would eventually love it.

I love when she goes to school because I get so excited to see what she has made that day. Everyday she makes a art project during craft time. I have to admit, I get pretty ansty to get home on Monday & Wednesdays because she loves to run to me and show me what she has made me. Yes she says she makes her crafts for me, ocassionally she will say she will make them for Brett, but mostly me :) I love that girl

Here are few things Audree has made over the past few weeks.

Birthday & Fall Festival Fun!

his past weekend was one of Audree’s best friends, as she says, 4th birthday bash. Her theme was ice cream and it was so incredibly cute!!! They had it at a local gymnastic gym which was great for the kids! Audree & Ashlyn ran around and had so much fun. Shelly really out did her self with the party, it was such a wonderful party 

After Kinleys birthday party, we headed to our nieces Fall Festival at her school. They had games and all kinds of activities for the kids to do. We started out with the cake walk and Audree won a round at the cake walk and picked out some Halloween cupcakes! Afterwards we headed to the cafeteria to chow down on some pizza  We let the girls play the games and even had their hair sprayed all different colors. Audree wasn’t into the hair color at first, but once Ashlyn & Laura got theirs done she was all ready for it!! The girls had a blast.

Our niece ended up spending the night with us and they had a lot of fun! Once we got home, I threw all 3 of the girls in the shower to rinse out their multi-colored hair. They ran around, picked on Brett and then crashed out. When I went to check on them, this is how I found Audree & Laura, isn’t this too sweet??

Whats Been Going On Lately!

Well A LOT has happened since I’ve last blogged. Ive been super busy during the week and just haven’t been on the computer to actually blog! Soooo I am sorry to my fellow blog readers, I will try and get back on track.

I put my 2 weeks notice in at the company I’ve been with for 5 years a few weeks ago. I finally decided to make my family & friends advice and just leave that place. There has been A LOT going on at that place and it was just best for me to remove myself from that situation. Since I have been gone, I have just been in the best mood! I knew I was unhappy while I was employed at my last job, but I didn’t really know how MUCH it affected me.

After job searching for 2 weeks and several interviews later, I finally received the phone call I had been waiting for. I GOT A JOB!!! I got a HUGE pay increase, which was well needed & deserved in my opinion  I started 3 weeks ago and I absolutely LOVE it! Everyone seems to get along, and it’s a true FAMILY oriented place. I actually enjoy getting up and going to work everyday.

This past weekend we met up with my sister in law, niece, as well we all my dad and stepmom at the fair. The heart of Texas fair comes every October for 1 week only. I always went as a kid and of course we are carrying on the tradition with the girls. I love going for the entertainment, the atmosphere, and just everything about the fair.

I tried of the delicious gorditas I’ve heard about for years. It’s a place that comes in from San Antonio and sets up a booth. I have to admit it was DELISH!!! I also got my FAVORITE and MUST HAVE roasted corn  Brett broke down and got his turkey leg, and it was $9!! I was in SHOCK that it cost $9, but hey the fair only comes in one time a year. Audree & Ashlyn shared a foot long corny dog and a funnel cake too.

Audree absolutely loved the fair. She had a grin on her face from ear to ear!!! She rode every ride she could, even some of the older big kid rides! Brett got an armband so he could ride the rides with Audree, while I stayed with Ashlyn. Ashlyn isn’t tall enough to ride a lot of the rides, but she did get to ride a few. Her face was priceless. I mean if you could have seen her face, you all would have died laughing!!! We stayed at the fair for 6 hours and were finally worn out so we headed home. I think we all just laid around the next day and relaxed.

Lets see, I also lost 2 pounds this past week. I started Slim Fast and it hasn’t been too bad! I am not following 100% to the T, but enough to make me lose some weight. Hopefully the weigh will continue to come off and I hope to start working out too.

We also went and bought the girls Halloween costumes last night. Ashlyn is a pirate princess and Audree is going to be a witch (she loved it because the skirt lights up). I am going to be a witch, I know how creative huh? My new place of employment goes all out for holidays. EVERYONE decorates their area with Halloween décor, they all dress up, and just have a grand ol time!

Well that’s all I can think about for now. I promise Ill try and be a better blogger.

Crispy chicken with creamy Italian Sauce & Bow Tie Pasta

Since Ive been home with the girls, I have been looking for some new recipes for dinner! I have been on pinterest, what a shocker I know lol, and found some really WONDERFUL ones. I came across this was last night and thought I would try it for dinner tonight. I am so glad I did, because this was a HUGE hit! It full of so much flavor and just overall DELICIOUS!

Crispy Chicken with Creamy Italian Sauce and Bowtie Pasta

3 large chicken breasts
5 C corn flakes
3/4 C flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C milk
6 TBSP olive oil
1 12 oz package bowtie noodles

Sauce:
1 10 oz container Philadelphia Cooking Cream (Italian Cheese and Herb Flavor)
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 C chicken broth
1/2 C milk
fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

1. In a small food processor crush the corn flakes into crumbs <---- I put mine in a ziploc bag and used a rolling pin to break them up since I didn't have a food processsor.

2. Add the 1/2 t salt to the 3/4 C flour. Stir to combine.

3. Place the flour, milk and crushed cornflakes each into their own separate pan. Loaf pans work well for this. If you don't have three loaf pans, do not dismay. You could use pie tins, or round cake pans...what ever works for you.

4. Place your chicken breasts in a gallon sized Ziploc bag and seal the top. Pound the chicken flat with a meat mallet. You will really be thankful for the Ziploc bag in this step. Who wants a bunch of chicken guts flying around their kitchen? Not me...that's who.

5. Take a pair of sharp kitchen scissors and cut each breast in half.

6. Dredge the chicken in the flour. Be sure it gets covered on both sides. Lay the floured chicken onto a small cookie sheet and slide the sheet into the freezer. Let it hang out there for about 5 minutes.

7. Start cooking your pasta.

8. Remove the chicken from the freezer and dredge each piece in the milkand then immediately into the corn flake crumbs. Again, be sure both sides are covered well.

9. Add the olive oil to a hot skillet.

10. Carefully lay each chicken piece into the hot oil. Sprinkle with a little bit of salt and pepper. Cook over medium high heat for about 5 minutes....or until the underside of each piece is nice and golden brown. Turn the pieces over. If the bottom of the pan is dry add just a bit more olive oil to the side of the pan. Swirl the pan around a bit to let the oil flow to all sides.

11. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Let the chicken cook for about 7 more minutes, being careful not to burn the bottoms.

12. When your chicken has been cooked through remove it from the pan and place it on a plate. Cover with tin foil.

13. Into the same pan pour your broth. Philly Cooking Creme, Cream of Chicken, and milk. Whisk the sauce around and let it get all warm and bubbly. Should only take about 3 minutes.

14. Slice your chicken into strips and serve over your cooked pasta and sauce. Garnish with chopped parsley if you choose.

Enjoy

3rd day of school

Well Audree had her 3rd day of school today. Brett & I didn't have a good feeling at all about it. As soon as she woke up she was protesting going to school. She wanted NOTHING to do with it. I felt horrible, but knew I had to stay strong and send her. It has been a whole week since she had been so I knew that had to do something with it. My mother in law called right after she dropped her off and the report was bad. I closed my eyes and just prayed that she would get better and do ok. I called her school around 11 to make sure she was a okay. The director said she was in music class and went and checked on her. GOOD REPORT!! She said she was marching around in circles with her friends and giggling her little head off. My heart just warmed up so much knowing she was ok. When my mother in law picked her up they called me, Audree wouldn't talk, she had literally just woke up right before school was out. But my mother in law did tell me she was sad because she had to leave school! WHAT?!?! She cried when she was dropped off because she didn't want to me left and now she is sad when she is picked up because she doesn't want to leave lol my kid is nuts She told me she has the coolest lunches in her whole class. We make her sandwiches together the night before and we cut them into whatever shape she choose. Then she always has a side of fruit, string cheese, and her dessert which is a rice krispy treat or cookie. She said everyone else just bring lunchables or plain sandwiches lol here is her artwork she did all by herself today :)
