Quick Update

We had our regularly scheduled check up today and another gender ultrasound to make sure our little princess was a princess. Brett wasn't able to make the appt this morning due to work, so my mom and aunt came with me to see our little angel!

She looked SO MUCH BIGGER than 4 weeks ago, and had lots of meat on her bones!! She weighs around a pound but couldn't really tell the length, which is okay by me. Ashlyn started out stubborn, just like her mommy, and wanted to sleep I guess. I told the tech she normally doesn't like to wake up til around 10:30 haha She finally woke up and we got to see her little arms moving ( I said she was waving hi to us), she kicked her little legs, yawned, smiled and we got a good profile pic of her!

I asked the tech to look at my placenta because I am so worried about having another preemie due to my abruption I had with Audree. It was located at the very top of the uterus and looks very healthy so that put my mind at ease a little bit.

After the ultrasound I headed back to see Dr K! He measured my belly and I'm measuring 25 weeks and Im really only 22.5 weeks EEEEEK! With Audree I always measured around a week ahead but GEEZ NOT 2.5 WEEKS AHEAD!! I have a feeling little Ashlyn is going to be a hunk like her sister was, @ 32 weeks Audree weighed 4 lbs 13.8 oz and was 18.5 inches long! IF she would have gone full term she would have been a 10 or 11 pounder they said.

No more ultrasound until we schedule my 3d-4d which will be in about 7-8 weeks I can't wait to see her again!!

I can't wait to show Audree another pic of her sister, she is getting good at saying Ashlyn. When we say our prayers @ night she has to God Bless her Baby, its the sweetest thing ever.

22 weeks

This past week has been very intense but the stress has eased up! We closed on our house Monday morning (both houses) and started the move Tuesday morning around 11:30! We have settled in very nicely and everything is up and out of boxes!

Brett painted Audree & Ashlyn's room today and we got everything arranged. We put Audree's crib back together, that is where Ashlyn will sleep, and she decided she liked her crib again! For those who dont know she has been sleeping in our bedroom on her own little bed since umm..... yeah 10 months!! I know I know, but it really doesn't bother us because she isn't in our bed and I feel safe with her being right there. BUT we are trying slowly but surley to get her back in her room. We have to go and buy Audree a big girl toddler bed and order Ashlyn's letters to hang over the crib & it should be completely finished!

We had a Cmas party @ my sister in laws this past Saturday and we had loads of fun! We ate, chatted, played Cmas Bingo & Charades. Charades was pretty fun and funny!! I got a Melting Snowman... Now I know some of you are thinking how in the heck did I act out a melting snowman, umm.... it was pretty amusing at that! BUT my hubby guessed it. He ended up winning the game (even though I think he cheated, I was in the lead)! We had a Chinese Cmas after that and we got a gift card to Don Carlos and HEB, WHOO HOO!!

How your baby's growing:

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

How your life's changing:

At this point, you may find your belly becoming a hand magnet. It's perfectly okay to tell folks who touch your tummy that you'd rather they didn't. And if people are telling you that you look smaller or bigger than you should at this point, remember that each woman grows — and shows — at her own rate. What's important is that you see your practitioner for regular visits so she can make sure your baby's growth is on track. You may start to notice stretch marks on your abdomen as it expands to accommodate your growing baby. At least half of all pregnant women will develop stretch marks by the time they give birth. These small streaks of differently textured skin can range from pink to dark brown (depending on your skin color). Although they most commonly appear on your tummy, stretch marks may also show up on your buttocks, thighs, hips, and breasts. There's no proof that lotion helps prevent stretch marks, but keeping your skin moisturized may help with any itching

I know I know I say this every week, but once again another week has come and gone. This week has been stressful to say the least and I haven't done my best at staying calm, cool, and collective for our little Ashlyn. Things have not gone as smooth as we planned with closing on our home, they have gone anything but that. I have been so upset and crying and its hard to make myself remain calm. For those of you who know us and what this about I am sure you can totally relate with me on how I am feeling right now. However, we are now set to close Monday so I just ask everyone to pray it goes through!

Little Miss Ashlyn is kicking up a storm these days, so Im thinking we might have a little dancer on our hands. Audree was never really a mover, I felt her here and there and Brett only got to feel her a handful of times, so everytime Ashlyn moves I am soaking it up! Brett has already felt her move more than he did when I was pregnant with Audree. I feel like my belly has just busted out over night, my Nana even made a comment today! She said I dont think your belly was that big at Thanksgiving (yeah just what 2 weeks ago?!?!) I said ummmm..... sure it was! Yes folks I am trying to make myself feel better about my HUGE belly! HAHA Although it is growing for such a wonderful and amazing thing! I sometimes feel like I look fat, but my husband says no ape you look pregnant! I try to compare myself to when I was pregnant at this point with Audree and some pics I look the same, some pics I look smaller and some pics I look bigger, so I guess it all depends on the angle its taken!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.

How your life's changing:

You're probably feeling pretty comfortable these days. You're not too big yet, and the usual discomforts associated with early pregnancy are, for the most part, gone. If you're feeling good, relax and enjoy it while you can — the third trimester may bring with it a new crop of complaints.

That's not to say you won't have some minor glitches to deal with now. For example, increased oil production may contribute to the development (or worsening) of acne. If that's the case, be diligent about washing well with a gentle soap or cleanser twice a day, and make sure that any moisturizer or make-up you use is oil-free. Don't take any oral acne medications — some are very hazardous during pregnancy — or use any topical acne products without first checking with your practitioner.

You're also more prone to varicose veins now. As your pregnancy progresses, there's increasing pressure on the veins in your legs; higher progesterone levels, which may cause the walls of your veins to relax, can make the problem worse. You're more likely to get varicose veins if other family members have them. Also, they tend to get worse with each successive pregnancy and as you age. To help prevent or minimize varicose veins, exercise daily, prop up your feet and legs whenever possible, sleep on your left side, and wear maternity support hose.

You may also notice so-called spider veins (a group of tiny blood vessels near the surface of your skin), particularly on your ankles, legs, or face. They may have a spider- or sunburst-like pattern with little branches radiating out from the center, they may look like the branches of a tree, or they may be a group of separate thin lines with no particular pattern. Though they may be a bit unsightly, spider veins don't cause discomfort and usually disappear after delivery.

How Far Along? 21 weeks
Weight Gained / Loss? -8 lbs, I promise Im eating!
Maternity Clothes? In them on the weekend, but I can still wear drawstring pants and t-shirts
Sleep? uh huh rubbing that word in my face huh? Actually I have slept better this past week (minus the stress keeping me up) than I have been. I think its because I have been mentally and emotionally exhausted
Best Moment of the Week? I really wish I was writing we closed on the house and were moving, but hopefully I get to write this next week! Watching Ashlyn move my belly when she kicks!!
Movement? oh yeah she is our little dancer! Still has some days where she is very still, but after all her kicking every other day I know she needs some rest
Morning Sickness? nope! But I still get nauseous from time to time @ night for some reason
Gender? She is our little girly princess
Labor Signs? Nope none I have had and I better not have ANY either!
Belly Button? Still in
What Do I miss? WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEll I am having to pee literally every 15 minutes so being able to sit and do something and not get bombarded with the sudden urge to pee! I swear Ashlyn is sitting on top of my bladder some days and just likes to kick it like a soccer ball.
What Im looking forward to? We have another ultrasound coming up Dec 22nd to make sure little Ashlyn is 100% a girl, Hopefully closing on our house Monday (PLEASE PRAY THE GUY SHOWS!!), We are headed to Austin tomorrow to go on a polar express train ride, my sister in laws family cmas party is Saturday! Whew we are busy little beavers
Milestones? None viability wise yet, but we are over halfway there! I started thinking if my Dr does take Ashlyn @ 38 weeks, as previously discussed, we will be having a baby in 17 weeks. I know it sounds far away but really its not!

Christmas Parade

Today we decided we would take Audree to the local Christmas Parade. I remember being in this parade when I was in high school so I thought it would be fun for Audree. Our cousin was down, Colton, so we picked him up as well!!

They shut down the streets so there would be no interruptions! Needless to say the parade was not all it was cracked up to be. All the kids were standing there waiting for candy and well there was very little candy involved. I was very bummed with the parade but I guess it was better than nothing. Audree seemed to enjoy it somewhat and it was something to get us out of the house.

Can I have some candy please?

Big 12 Champs!!

About 2 months ago Brett & I bought tickets to the Big 12 Championship game for college football. We knew that Texas had a good chance of going and we didn't want to miss out on this HUGE game.

We decided Audree would have been a handful and decided to leave her with my mom for the afternoon. We left out of town around 1 and we had so much fun on the way there. We talked, laughed and it was nice to have some quality time with the hubby.

Once we got into Arlington we stopped at The Cheesecake Factory. We had never eaten here, but we were told it was delicious. The menu was like 20 pages!! Now Im a veeeeeeeeery picky eater so I didn't care for my plate, but Brett ♥ ed his. It looked really good too. After lunch we had to taste their cheesecake, after all its what they are famous for. We had a piece of Dulche de Leche and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!

After lunch we headed to the stadium. Of course Mapquest, once again, was NO GOOD and it led us in the wrong direction. So once we got turned around and BACK on track we were good to go. Tailgaters were EVERYWHERE and the parking lot was full! We got into our lot (#10) and it was waaaaay to cold to stand outside! The Dallas Cowboy Stadium is AMAZING! This thing is HUGE and everthing is top notch! I was blown away when we walked in.

We got to our seats and I was so ready for the game to start. We had very good seats, but Ill say even if you sat at the very top, WHICH IS WAAAAAAAAY UP THERE, it's still not a bad seat. 5 Nebraska fans were sandwiched in between all of us die hard UT fans. Everytime they would make a play, they would turn around and high five each other and have the nerve to look at all of us UT fans and try to high five us. I wanted to show this guy who was boss haha and I did at the end of the game. We were up and down the whole game and I was whooped by the end! Sometimes I seem to forget that Im 5 months pregnant and well when I jump around and hoop and hollar poor little Ashlyn was probably shaken to death in there! I know she had her little horns up though!!

Nebraska didn't score any touchdowns, they were all field goals and UT only scored 1 touchdown and 2 field goals. In the 4th quarter UT was up by 2, when Nebraska scored a field goal with only 1:44 left in the game. My heart was sinking because I honestly didn't think they would come back down the field to score. However, once again they proved EVERYBODY wrong and got into field goal range. Colt threw the last pass play on the 3rd down with just seconds left on the clock, it was incomplete. Nebraska fans started cheering and rushing the field, little did they knew we had 1 second left on the clock! 1 second has never meant more to so many people than it did last night. Hunter Lawrence had to kick 46-yard field goal in order for Texas to win. My heart was beating out of my chest and everyone around us had their hands over the heads and were praying for them to make this. The kick went up and THROUGH! The whole stadium erupted and we all were jumping up and down. We all gave each other high fives and I looked at Brett and gave him the biggest hug! Remember the Nebraska fans who were being smart a's during the game? I reached over, touched his shoulder, threw up my horns and said hige five anyone? HAHA I know I know, but I just had to do it!

The crowd went wild, burnt orange and white confetti was all over the stage, and Mack Brown accepted the Big 12 Champ trophy. We stayed and watched the presentation before heading out. Ill admit, UT did not come with their A game last night, but all that matters is the won at the very end. They won the Big 12 Champion title and we couldn't be any happier.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HERE WE COME!

Halfway There.........

WOW!! Its really here, I made it to the halfway point! I can not believe that we are halfway through this journey! To think that in 140 days OR LESS (but not too much less) we will have our precious little Ashlyn Elizabeth here.

The cutest thing this week was Audree was leaving to go to Nonna's and Brett was outside putting his shoes on. Audree came up to me and gave my stomach and said la loo shiser! My heart just melted and I had the biggest grin on my face! She tells Ashlyn hi everytime I walk in the door.

This past week we have been busy little bees packing everything up getting ready for the BIG move next Friday!! Packing hasn't been easy Ill admit, being 20 weeks pregnant and lifting and pulling and packing just WEARS you out! Audree has been right in the middle of us wanting to help, she is such a big helper! We close next Thursday @ 8:30 on our old house and 11 at our new house! I can not wait to move in, decorate and have Cmas in our new home!!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

How your life's changing:

Congratulations! You've hit the halfway mark in your pregnancy. The top of your uterus is about level with your belly button, and you've likely gained around 10 pounds. Expect to gain another pound or so each week from now on. (If you started your pregnancy underweight, you may need to gain a bit more; if you were overweight, perhaps a bit less.) Make sure you're getting enough iron, a mineral that's used primarily to make hemoglobin (the part of your red blood cells that carries oxygen). During pregnancy, your body needs more iron to keep up with your expanding blood volume, as well as for your growing baby and the placenta. Red meat is one of the best sources of iron for pregnant women. Poultry (especially the dark meat) and shellfish also contain iron. Some common non-meat sources of iron include legumes, soy-based products, spinach, prune juice, raisins, and iron-fortified cereals

Turkey Day Pics

We had a GREAT turkey day!! We started out the day by going to Nana's (my mom's mom) and had some her DELICIOUS turkey, yummy rolls, FANTABULOUS green bean casserole, my amazing corn casserole and all the fixings! I wasn't as hungry as my eyes seemed to be, but I got my good share of food!

Next we headed to the inlaws where they had almost the same thing! I was too stuffed from the last visit, so I had to just pick and nibble. I did my yearly good deed and washed all the dishes (well washed some and others went in the dish washer). I know I just heard all of you saying "AWE" haha i know Im a goober!
After my inlaws we went to my dad's to see everyone and came back to spend the night with my mom (we had black Friday shopping to do)!!
Anywho here are a few pics I got to snap:
