Audree already made plans to have her first sleepover with Grammy, PaPa & Laura. I was a nervous wreck leaving her since we wouldn't be in town to get her if she got scared. She was a little sad when we were leaving but said she wanted to stay. She had lots of fun though and made memories. They ordered pizza for dinner, went to 3 spoons, played Candyland and watched the Smurfs. I got this super cute picture sent to me right before they were going to bed.
We left Saturday evening & it rained the entire way up there. Ashlyn slept the whole time, I tried playing games on my phone to keep my mind off the road. I HATE being in the car when its raining.
We ended up staying at The Adolphus. It was super duper nice and we LOVED it! We wanted to go eat in West End but everything was PACKED & it was still rainy. We ended up just stopping at a Mexican restauraunt called El Fenix. We ate at one when we were in Grapevine for the Ice Show in Dec and it was really good. However this go around, it wasn't that great. The service was bad, the waiter spoke so fast we couldn't understand him & we waited around 2o minutes for our sopapillas!
We headed back to the hotel and the Pifers came to our hotel room. We chatted, hung out & watched a weird move that Zachary picked out on tv. It was funny, but defitnely not your everyday movie you watch lol Only Zach! Ashlyn partied with us until midnight, yes she stayed up that long. She napped the whole 2 hours there so she was ready to go. She played,
Sunday morning we woke up, got ready and headed to a little place called All Good Cafe. It was super crowded and not your every day crowd. It had a "hippie" vibe to it. Their breakfast was YUMMY!! After breakfast we headed to the Imax Theatre. We went to watch a movie on Sharks, but it wasn't what we expected. It was more like a documentary, but still interesting.
After the IMAX, we rented Swan Paddle boats which were do much fun! We all started out in swans, but Brett, Ashlyn & I got downgraded to a duck because Brett couldn't steer the swan lol We laughed so hard and it just a blast to do.
After our afternoon of fun we headed to the benefit for our dear friend fighting stage 4 bone cancer. They had silent auctions, raffle tickets, showed some short films and most of all everyone was there to support one amazing lady! The raised $3300 for her which will help her with her medical bills.
We headed home around 4 and I was so excited to get Audree. We couldn't get home fast enough to see her. When we got to my dad's she ran into our arms and wouldn't let go of us. Her little smile and arms around my neck just felt amazing.
Overall we had a pretty awesome weekend! Here is a view I head on the way home, GORGEOUS!
